My Spanish teacher wasn’t able to meet with me today. I was disappointed, of course. I had a great “Spanish story of the week”. It’s OK, though. We’re going to meet tomorrow, and I’ll have more time to learn the story. (I had to use an online dictionary to get help with a few words and with verb conjugation, but other than that, I put it together myself.)
Esto es un cuento triste.
Ayer, un paciente llegó en la clinica. No conozco a este paciente. Él habla español solomente.
Le dije que su cita no estaba hoy. Su cita es en agosto. Él no entendía.
Le demostré el papel con la fecha de la cita. Todavia, el paciente no entendía.
Un intérprete estaba en la clinica, y ayudado me. Ella habló con el paciente.
La problema era que la fecha fue escrita “8/7/09″.
En los Estados Unidos, esto significa el 7 de agosto, 2009. Pero, en México, esto significa el 8 de julio, 2009.
Hombe pobre.
