We spent this morning voting.
Phillip and I have been voting by absentee ballot since long before Washington became a mail-in-ballot-only state. We read through the ballot. We read through the Voters’ Guide. We read through the mailing we’ve received. We discuss the issues and the candidates.
If we’re undecided about an issue, or a candidate, we turn to a list of recommendations from a trusted source. Or, in the case of a candidate, we look at how we voted in the primaries. (We save the previous Voters’ Guide with our votes marked.) Phillip and I usually, but not always, vote alike.
After completing our ballots, we dropped them into Capitol Hill’s first-ever ballot box, outside of Seattle Central College. Then we continued on to Pike/Pine and had lunch at Rancho Bravo.
We made our way home along Broadway, shopping for necessities along the way.
