Voting Day

We spent this morning voting.

Phillip and I have been voting by absentee ballot since long before Washington became a mail-in-ballot-only state. We read through the ballot. We read through the Voters’ Guide. We read through the mailing we’ve received. We discuss the issues and the candidates.

ballot-boxIf we’re undecided about an issue, or a candidate, we turn to a list of recommendations from a trusted source. Or, in the case of a candidate, we look at how we voted in the primaries. (We save the previous Voters’ Guide with our votes marked.) Phillip and I usually, but not always, vote alike.

After completing our ballots, we dropped them into Capitol Hill’s first-ever ballot box, outside of Seattle Central College. Then we continued on to Pike/Pine and had lunch at Rancho Bravo.

We made our way home along Broadway, shopping for necessities along the way.
