In The Open

This past week, the 47 bus has been practically empty in the morning. The same has been true of the Link trains. It seems that a lot of people are taking the week between Christmas and New Year’s off.

At my office, many of my coworker take the option of telecommuting, so our floor tends to be quiet except on group meeting days. (I was offered the telecommuting option, but I choose to come into work. I like to get out of the apartment every once in a while.) Also, many of my coworkers are taking vacations this week, so there have been an exceptionally large number of empty cubicles around me.

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been opting to ride the 47 bus home, rather than Link, more often than I tend to do. I’ve been missing the scenery (and Pokéstop opportunities) that a bus ride offers and a tunnel ride doesn’t.

Another advantage that a bus ride has over a tunnel ride is the lack of broken escalators. Sound Transit seems to be having a hard time with those lately.
