Last month, we decided to end Writers’ Group. It wasn’t a firm decision, however. I was on the fence. Russ put in a vote to keep the Group going. Mariah, who had left the group, decided to return.
Today, Writers’ Group met with in full: Barbara, Russ, Mariah, Rebecca, and me. It felt good to have us all back together again.
Of course, we spent 90% of our time talking, and, of course, most of that talk was about politics and the scary times ahead.
Barbara read from a novel she’s been working on for a few years. Mariah read some fantastic poetry she’d written in the 80s and 90s. Russ read a poem about yesterday’s Women’s March. Rebecca didn’t bring anything to read, but showed off a tarot deck she’d designed. And I read a steampunk piece I’ve been working on, on and off, for a couple of months.
We’re planning to meet again next month.
